If you had the choice of feeling joy and contentment or misery and hopelessness, which would you chose? Most people would choose the former rather than the latter. But because of life experiences, mental health conditions, or having a negative mindset, some people struggle to get there. I find that starting this season with a gratefulness holiday to be a telling reminder.
Thanksgiving is a time for us to focus on the good things in life; to think of the people that root for us or bring laughter, love, and connection; and to appreciate our blessings, both large and small. As we embark on the rush of holiday shopping, busy calendars, and amid all the noise, find your quiet moments of thanks and feel the joy. It’s within us––sometimes blaring clear and bright, but other times you have to walk a path to get there. But it’s there, nonetheless.
