Who do you spend your time with? Are they helping you achieve your goals or holding you back? These two questions hold strong tells. The impact people have on your life is not always clear when you’re young. Youth are often chasing the next fun experience or cute partner. I know I had that in me when I was young.
Now, I know how important it is to surround yourself with people who root for you and help you achieve your goals. It’s easier to move forward and achieve things when people have your back and want what's best for you. Pick people who build you up, open your eyes to positive new things, and value the same things you do. My advice to young people and my mentees is always, choose wisely.
