Autumn forest trail lined with white birch trees and yellow-green leaves under a clear blue sky, peaceful and empty.

For most people, when October arrives in Minnesota, it’s all about fall colors. In the commercial real estate business, October means fall rush and one of our busiest months of the year.

Tenants, buyers, developers, and owners want to close deals and get buildouts completed before the ground freezes and construction costs increase. People also want to wrap things up before Q4 ends and the holidays arrive.

Brokers are busy with property showings, investors are busy with asset transactions, and owners are busy preparing buildings for subzero temperatures. There’s a lot going on! My advice when juggling a busy calendar is to set hard boundaries on time (it’s ok to say no), be conscious of your breath, protect your sleep, and make time for fall colors. Those gorgeous views slow your heart rate, push away worries, and spark awe and joy. So don’t forget to look up and look out. 🍁
