Commercial Real Estate Connections

This week we saw the wrap up of the Great Minnesota Get-Together. Two million people attended this year’s state fair, generating an estimated $300 million economic impact to the Twin Cities. To make the fun last a little longer, a team member gave me three facts about the MN State Fair and challenged me to make commercial real estate connections to each one. Here goes …
Fact: Christina Aguilera holds the record for the most tickets sold to a single Grandstand show at 22,117.
Response: Although not a record but just as rewarding, Commercial Equities Group (CEG) won silver in Minnesota’s Best Readers’ Choice 2025 in the commercial real estate brokerage category (sponsored by The Minnesota Star Tribune). As a boutique brokerage up against much larger companies, we are grateful for each vote. We also lead all brokerages, large or small, in five star Google reviews. And that’s a record we’ll take! 🏆
Fact: It takes 6-8 hours for a professional to carve someone’s face in butter.
Response: The process of making the 90-pound block of butter used in this annual fair tradition starts at a dairy farm, which is considered a commercial property. An industrial facility is used to separate, pasteurize, and churn the cream. Carving someone’s face in butter is not easy, but making the connection was. Maybe we need our “M” logo (buildings) carved in butter next year. 🤔

Fact: The Great Big Wheel is 15 stories (156 feet) high.
Response: The tallest traveling Ferris wheel provides for spectacular views, up to ten miles away depending on weather. It’s a great way to view the economic heart of Minneapolis –– its commercial properties! 😀
