Complex Deals Build Persistence 👨‍🚀

Updated: Jun 13

Two astronauts in white suits explore a rocky, moonlit surface with a large planet visible in the starry sky, creating a sense of persistence. One astronaut wearing a CEG logo is ahead of the other.

Some deals are like the Energizer Bunny –– they keep going and going and going. I recently closed on a land deal that took over five years (that means no payment on your work for five years). As I’ve said before, commercial real estate is not a field of instant gratification. Financing, due diligence, laws/regulations, and other factors can take a long time to work through. This deal was complex, moved slowly, and took many phone calls. I had to keep moving forward one step at a time.

Complex deals build persistence muscles. And brokers need those muscles strong! Persistence develops experience and brings success. Persistence and energy make things happen.

Completing that deal felt great (so was receiving the check 😀). Even though a payment may arrive years after signing a listing agreement, it may just land at the perfect time. You never know. And that’s another reason to persist.
